With a career in intellectual property (IP) spanning over 30 years, Rosie is a highly accomplished and experienced IP practitioner, patent and trade mark attorney and business strategist with a passion for innovation and growth.
Rosie strategically manages and oversees complex matters for local and global matters for clients in the life sciences industries including the pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, biotech, med-tech, animal health, food and cosmetic industries. Her experience extends to patent drafting, prosecution, opposition, management of clients’ IP portfolios including licensed IP rights, due diligence analyses, and commercialisation of IP rights. Rosie also has considerable experience in providing patent infringement opinions and freedom to operate analyses.
Rosie consistently provides exceptional patent advice to her clients both locally and internationally. Her clients consider her to take a business-minded approach that renders her personalised advice invaluable and that her outstanding performance has seen her expand her pharmaceutical expertise into India and throughout Asia.
Rosie also has experience with assisting clients in relation to compliance with the Food Standards Code Australia and New Zealand (FSANZ), including labelling and packaging requirements.
Rosie has won multiple accolades for her work as an IP practitioner, including a Silver Globee Award for Committed Professional of the Year (2023) and recognition as one of the top 250 leading female IP practitioners (2019). Managing Intellectual Property, IAM Patent 1000, and Asia IP Experts, amongst others, have also extensively recommended Rosie as one of Australia’s leading IP practitioners.
Rosie has a Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Science (Chemistry) from Victoria University and a Diploma in Intellectual Property Practice from the Institute of Patent and Trade Mark Attorneys (IPTA). Rosie has also completed a Global Executive MBA (GEMBA) with Monash Business School, attending INSEAD and participating in sessions by China Europe International Business School (CEIBS) and NYU Stern School as part of the international business modules.
Before moving in-house at a fast-growing MedTech startup as the Head of Intellectual Property, Rosie was a principal of a well-established national IP firm for over 10 years.
