Commercial IP - Legal Services

Our understanding of the global nature of licensing and pharma is second to none.

When considering licensing, partnering, entering R&D co-operation projects or any other deal, we work with clients’ BD teams to help build and implement their global and regional operations and commercialisation strategies.

Pearce IP lawyers work with clients to support their legal and business development teams on research and development agreements, licenses, assignments, and other commercial deals.

Notaries Public: Notary Public Services

We offer Notary Public services in both our Wellington and Sydney offices.

Notaries Public

Our notaries based in Wellington and (from early 2026) Sydney provide notary services to businesses, firms and individuals. We are available to formally notarise documents for use (mostly) outside of the country. Except in very limited circumstances, a solicitor or Justice of the Peace (who is not otherwise a Notary) is not authorised to witness or certify documents intended for use in foreign countries. We assist local and overseas clients by notarising documents and arranging authentication and legalisation of notarised documents for use in other countries.

Copyright Services - Legal Services

Our team can advise on key copyright law differences between Australia and New Zealand.

Copyright Services

With no registration requirements and a potentially longer lifespan than patents or registered designs, copyright can be a key intangible asset in your ANZ business by ensuring exclusivity and providing income via licensing. Pearce IP assists in identifying, securing ownership, licensing and copyright disputes and enforcement.

Pearce IP’s lawyers have experience in both advancing and defending claims of copyright infringement worldwide including in relation to commercial documentation, industrial designs, consumer goods and packaging, software, fashion, and the arts.
